Job Title: Certifying Engineer

Job Purpose: Responsible for carrying out aircraft maintenance in compliance with company procedures, aircraft technical data, local authority regulations and EH & S practices.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager
  • Holds CAA issued Maintenance License or accepted equivalent (B1.1, B1.2, B3 and/or B2)
  • Is able to work off trade, in order to support the varying demands of maintenance and the other trade certifiers
  • Helps to maintain clean and presentable facilities for all planned work, ensuring that the highest industry standards are met in terms of husbandry and working environment
  • Assists with the coordination of the hangar activity to ensure smooth and effective control of maintenance.
  • Supports the Maintenance Manager with the daily maintenance activity
  • Supports, promotes and drives the On Time Delivery for every base maintenance. Ensuring that all resources and staff shortfalls are reported
  • Responsible for the correct and timely recording of maintenance
  • Reports any errors or near misses, and support in the investigation and preventative actions
  • Responsible for ensuring discipline of personal tool control on the shop floor
  • Responsible for risk assessments of tasks undertaken (self) within area of operation, including Line maintenance
  • Support company EH & S discipline and expectation
  • Delivers strategic projects as defined by the Maintenance Manager
  • Carry out continuous improvement investigations and root cause analysis investigations as requested to reduce quality escapes and COPQ
  • Carries out any reasonable request by the Maintenance Manager

  • Knowledge of safety risks linked to the working environment
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Just Culture
  • Knowledge of CDCCL when relevant
  • Knowledge of EWIS when relevant
  • Understanding of professional integrity, behaviour and attitude towards safety
  • Understanding of conditions for ensuring continuing airworthiness of aircraft and components
  • Understanding of his/her own human performance limitations
  • Understanding of personnel authorisations and limitations
  • Understanding critical tasks
  • Ability to consider human performance and limitations
  • Ability to determine required qualifications for task performance
  • Ability to confirm proper accomplishment of maintenance tasks
  • Ability to identify and properly plan performance of a critical task
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and report the discrepancies

  • Ability to properly process removed, uninstalled and rejected parts

Experience:

  • Previous experience of working within a Part 145 organisation
  • Previous experience of communicating with customers and HNWIs.
  • Computer literate
  • Read & write in fluent English

 

Desirable:

  • Have the right to work in the UK without restriction
  • Full UK driving license
